Your HR department is busy. The sheer amount of information that flows through it, such as requests from employees, can be overwhelming, a problem often exacerbated by this information lacking in structure and being conveyed in a disorderly way. This is detrimental to your team’s workflow and can leave colleagues feeling inefficient and under pressure.
In an ideal world, every piece of information, every request, and every communication would be completely organized and catalogued in a way that makes it easy for employees to act upon it and keep track of time-sensitive tasks.
That’s where HR Request comes in, a Web App developed by FourVision for the Microsoft Dynamics 365 platform.
What is HR Request?
HR Request collects, structures, redistributes, and monitors all requests made within an organization by employees (and managers) via fully configurable forms.
The tool covers a wide range of instances, from simple employment-related requests to more complex managerial requests for employee appraisal. Any request that’s initiated is routed via automated workflows to ensure that it reaches the appropriate people and is actioned in time.
With HR Request, both managers and team leaders are provided with a full managerial overview of all requests that have been made within their team. The tool also allows everyone in your company to track the progress of their submitted requests through personal dashboards.
All submitted requests are centralized through the Shared Service Centre (SSC) and covers many common request types, such as:
- Recruitment administration (job requisition and simplified hiring)
- Onboarding new staff
- Payroll changes
- Benefits administration
HR Request can also be integrated with a wide range of different systems through the API integration toolbox.
The API toolbox
HR Request was previously only a standard integration tool between Microsoft Dynamics 365 HR and FourVision’s web-based applications. This meant workflows would only work between D365 and FourVision apps.
Not satisfied with this limitation, we built an API integration toolbox that works to simplify integrations between various systems. This toolbox makes workflow integrations with third-party systems such as iCIMS, Dynamics ATS, and other Microsoft applications much easier, negating the need to custom-build integrations—an expensive and time-consuming feat.
Using the API toolbox, HR Request workflows can now send data to and receive it from different systems.
HR Request achieves this by bridging the two end points. Essentially, HR Request acts as a “middleman” by translating forms and facilitating the workflow. Data is taken from (fully configurable) forms in one system and translated into the standards of another.
Why use the API toolbox?
Functionality enabled by the use of our API toolbox in conjunction with HR Request makes it possible for Dynamics 365 customers to integrate FourVision’s web-based apps with any Microsoft business application, such as Azure, Dynamics 365, and Office 365 apps.
Take a look at the below example of a new hire request sent from iCIMS to Dynamics 365 HR for an idea of what the API toolbox is capable of helping your HR team to achieve.
First, an open position is approved by HR Request. This data is then sent to iCIMS where a vacancy is created. Successful candidate data is then sent back to HR Request, where data is subsequently sent to Dynamics 365 HR and synced with the FourVision Boarding Web App and, finally, the Document Management System.
