Organizations deal with changes that can impact the business model and working method on a daily basis. In order to be well-prepared for the future, it is important to look at external factors. This article will tell you all about HR trends that can be incredibly useful to you.

Social Recruiting

When a recruiter actively uses social media in their recruitment process, the chance of finding more talent increases. In the past, recruiters would often be limited to vacancy websites, newspaper ads, and telephone calls. Since millennials have begun to form a much larger percentage of the workforce, a switch to social media can be seen as necessary. We are not just talking about sharing the link to the vacancy on the website to your Facebook. No! Think bigger in order to find the right talent. Research shows that 88% of people aged between 21-34 have a Facebook account, 83% have a YouTube account, 41% are on Snapchat and 43% have an account on LinkedIn. These are estimated Global figures and can vary per country or region. Within Europe and North America, the numbers are higher, especially for LinkedIn. So, think bigger in terms of campaigning and use functions like the LinkedIn Recruiter to reach a bigger and more segmented audience. Click here to learn more about using LinkedIn for recruitment.

Labor Market

You have probably experienced it yourself, or heard about it numerous times; the labor market is tight at the moment. This means that unemployment rates are low and organizations have a hard time finding new employees. Those looking for employment have a high chance of finding it. This will allow employees the opportunity to bargain from a beneficial position which can result in higher salaries. Your organization will have to compete with others in order to attract new talent, so it is important that you set yourself apart from your competitors. How you do that is up to you. You can, for example, focus on branding so you will become a sought after employer in the minds of your target group, or you could ‘simply’ increase salaries or bonuses. It really is up to you.

Performance Management

Performance Management is applied wherever people interact; from offices and social events to schools and sports teams. Performance Management translates organizational goals into operational goals, which helps increase employee involvement. If Organizations set up their goals in collaboration with the employees then it is much easier to reach a mutual understanding. Employees can see their own progression so they will know what and when to adjust if something does not go as planned. Are you using Dynamics 365 for Talent? We have developed our own Performance Management Web App that allows you to support your employees to always strive for the best possible result!

Onboarding

If you are familiar with HR then Onboarding is likely not new to you. Onboarding has been getting more and more attention over the past few years. The Society For Human Resources Management (SHRM) concluded that 69% of employees are more likely to stay for three years or more after having experienced great Onboarding. Besides that, new hires who went through structured onboarding are 58% more likely to stay at that organization where they went through the process.
